The greatest gift that we can ever receive is the Messiah, the Savior Jesus Christ, who was born just to die for our sins and give us the gift of eternal life. It is all summed up in John 3:16,

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but will have everlasting life. "

When Christ was born, people were too busy with holiday festivity (read Luke 2:1-20) that they fail to accommodate a forlorn couple, with the woman about to give birth to the King of Kings. Only a filthy and damp stable was available to shelter them. Only an itchy and shabby manger was available for the Messiah to lay down as a cradle. Only the barn animals have silently witnessed such glorious moment. Only a group of poor shepherds visited the babe who was the born to be mankind's Savior. No religious leaders nor political figures ever visited them after several months have passed, only some foreign wise men from the East were able to offer some gifts to the Maker of Heaven and Earth.

Today Christmas is the grandest holiday in the world, yet WHERE IS CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS?

Is Christ adorned on that magnificent Christmas tree?
Is Christ one among Santa's cronies?
Is Christ wrapped inside one of those exciting gift boxes?
Is Christ present in these numerous whirling commercial glitz & blitz?
Is Christ really the center of all our dear traditions of the season?

He could nowhere be in any of these things because He could only be in your heart, in your very life!

Jesus became Emmanuel (which means God is with us), for us to see that salvation comes only by our humble acceptance of Him into our lives as our Lord and Savior! He doesn't want the best of you and the best of what you have. He wants the most destitute and filthiest part so that He can bring out the best in you and through you. Ephesians 2:8 says:

"For it is by grace that you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the GIFT OF GOD - not by works, so that no one can boast."

JESUS ONLY WANT FOR HIM TO BE BORN ON THE MANGER OF YOUR HEART so that He can give you that abundant life in Him. A life beyond the shallow pleasures of the Earth but the fullest and most meaningful one now and for all eternity. FOR NO EYES HAVE SEEN, NO EARS HAVE HEARD THE GOODNESS THE LORD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO PUT THEIR LIFE AND TRUST IN HIM.

I PRAY THAT YOU'LL FIND THE CHRIST OF CHRISTMAS IN THE MANGER OF YOUR HEART, ONLY THEN THAT YOU CAN TRULY HAVE MORE THAN A MERRY CHRISTMAS BUT A JOYOUS AND BLESSED ONE. NOW THAT’S THE GREATEST GIFT THAT YOU CAN EVER RECEIVE!
